KMS–Horse Powertrain team dominates World Rallycross opening race at ‘Magic Weekend’ in Höljes
The 2024 FIA World Rallycross Championship kicked off over Sweden's ‘Magic Weekend’ (6–7 July) with a new era in its ‘Battle of Technologies’. This year, for the first time, electric and internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered cars are competing directly against each other to win the World Rallycross Championship.
Leading the ICE charge over the opening weekend, KMS–Horse Powertrain star Johan Kristoffersson showcased his considerable prowess. He won both the opening round on Saturday and round 2 of the 2024 season on Sunday, despite challenging weather conditions. This was Kristoffersson’s 42nd career victory.
With teammate Ole Christian Veiby achieving third place in Sunday’s race, the KMS–Horse Powertrain team dominated the podium over the two-day event, which attracted over 25,000 spectators.
The KMS–Horse Powertrain team heads to Hungary next for the second race weekend of the season on 27 July. Stay tuned for updates.
